I have 92 lincoln towncar 4.6L and sometimes my car putt and***** a little for switching gears and sometime drives fine like nothing wrong i dont get it

Check for tune up. Check for vacuum leaks. Check for fuel pressure. If the check engine light is on, have the computer scanned for trouble codes. Most parts stores will do it for free.
