occasional my transmission skips a gear when accelerating..what could be wrong?

this happens only about 5% of the time. it seems to skip from first gear to either 3rd gear or overdrive

Do you have a check engine light and when was last tune-up?

Check transmission fluid level and condition if okay-Have these sensors checked and tested: Throttle, Vehicle speed and coolant temperature these sensors has a role in the operation of the transmission such as the throttle and governor pressures-if all okay-Have the transmission checked by a transmission specialist.
