my 92 honda prelude si 2.3 5 spd sputters while driving it only does it around 2800 rpm could it be the throttle position sensor

It could be the TPS, a vacuum leak... If the check engine light comes on, have the computer scanned to identify trouble codes. Most part stores will do it for free.
