The key won't turn in the ignition hole. Could the key be worn enough to keep it from turning?

yes but usually starts with wiggle it before it quits altogether. have you tried lubrication?

it is possible but if it was, the doors would not work as well. do you have another key to try??
the tumbler may be bad also. that is a more common failure.
