Disconnect the negative battery cable and then go and remove it.
On Continental, Sable & Taurus models, the ECA is located behind the glove compartment, under the instrument panel.
Disconnect electrical connector from ECA.
On all models except Cougar and Thunderbird, remove clip attaching ECA to dash panel.
On Cougar and Thunderbird models, remove ECA lower leg-to-cowl side sheet metal attaching screw.
On all models, remove ECA.
Reverse procedure to install.
