"We have a 1992 Ford F350 crew cab. When you start the engine, sporadically, the starter stays engaged unless you turn the key off and on or disconnect the battery cable. Today we replaced the starter and the solenoid but the problem persists. Any ideas??..."

Sounds like either your ignition switch or the starter relay is sticking-
