We have a 1992 Ford Explorer 4x4 that recently started making a loud howling noise. We just had the tires rotated and balanced but that didn't fix the noise. The mechanic did notice the hubs in the two front tires were leaking. Are the two problems related?

sounds like a bearing. could be the front wheel bearings or the rear. you need someone with a trained ear to pinpoint the noise
