How do I fix a broken AC control switch?

The AC//heater/defrost/vent etc. selector seems to be detached inside the control panel. Is this easily repairable? Or should it be done professionally?

If it has manual climate control, I believe it is attached to a steel cable. You need to remove the unit to check for sure. However, it isn't a hard repair.
