1992 Ford Aerostar Put Gear Keep Pressing Gas Over Times Befor Will Start Pull

When I put it in gear, I have to keep pressing the gas over and over a few times befor it will start to pull its self, The transmission is a used one but the other van had a blowen motor,I was woundering if a tourq converter could cause this or could it be somthing else.

make sure the level is correct. other than that, it is an internal failure
