1992 dodge spirt repair of half shaft

we replaced the half shaft, started the car and it sounded like 2 couples on a tin roof with horse shoes on. were we suppose to put any fluid someplace, some came out when we replaced it. and the car wont move in any gear.

Sounds like you didn't get the inner joint's splines engaged. It's spring-loaded and will pop into place when it's lined up correctly. Either that, or the joint got pulled apart from careless handling.
