Car surges and acts as though is starving for fuel. Change fuel filter, filter was full of rust, just checked filter again, and is clean. Still surging.

Pump may be failing from all the debris.

Would this be a continual thing? Seems like if you run a higher octane fuel it runs smoother. Anyway, I thank you for the advice.

The pump will fail. The tank would have to be cleaned as well.
