Coolant leaks in steady concentrated stream, from lower thermostat housing while filling the radiator when engine is cold & off. The fluid drops on the ground directly below the source. Leaking stops when radiator coolant level drops approx 1 qt. When engine is turned on the leak returns only at a much slower rate. It appears to travel across engine between the cylinders just below the coolant tube & runs out over the transmission housing & drops to the ground at that point! "The cross engine coolant tube was replaced @ 60K."

Have you checked the gasket or cracks in the housing itself?

If the coolant is leaking from the t-stat housing, chances are you either have a bad gasket, loose t-stat housing, a crack in the housing, or a leaking hose.
