My truck starts fine. Idles fine. about 15-20 mph it starts cuttin out. I unhooked the EGR valve and runs fine. Does this mean I need a new one? a friend tells me no as he vaccum tested it. He says the prob. is whatever sends the messege to the EGR valve that is the problem. Can you tell me?

he could be right but you need to check and see if the ecm is grounding the solenoid to activate it.

check the cat converter as well. too much exhaust in the valve will force it open
