how would you remove a worn rear brake drum on a 1992 full size Blazer?

Go on back of the backing plate and retract the starwheel then heat it up and bang on it with a rubber mallet

Thanks Ras. My husband says there's no problem taking the drum off before it gets worn, but if it develops a lip, there's no way to get at it. I'll tell him what you said and see if it answers his question.
