No reverse on automatic transmission

The reverse quit working yesterday. Engine just revs when put into reverse. When I shift into drive, it goes forward and when I put into neutral, car moves forward as well. Help

What does park and the other gears do for you? Sounds like linkage problem, or worse. Let me know

When I shift into park, it moves forward and when I shift into drive, it also moves forward. But when I shift into reverse, the engine just revs if I give it gas. It worked fine, yesterday and then this with no warning. If it is a linkage problem, how would I go about fixing that? Thank you btw for your fast response to my question. I sure appreciate it.

You will have to check the linkage in the column and where it attaches to the transmission. This is not typically the do it yourself kind of fix.
