1992 Buick Park Avenue Car Suddenly Will Accellerate Over 30 Mph Rpm Engine

My car suddenly will not accellerate over 30 MPH. The RPM will go up and the engine speeds up but the car doesn't seem to want to go into the next gear. This is not all of the time but is doing it more often. What could be causing this issue?

internal issue with trans. you need a trans shop to drive and give you an idea of the failure.
