my 1992 acura legend over heated with white smoke coming from the radiator, the coolant was empty so I think I fixed it, could there be something else wrong with it?

Replace the thermostat and see what happens

There's a very good chance that you got it hot enough to damage the head gaskets. You would have to run chemical and pressure tests for that.
