1991 Toyota Pickup Speedometer

My speedometer and the odometer does not not work I have recently bought this truck its a 91' Toyota pickup V6 4X4 3.0 EFI. I have checked the fuses and they seem to be alright I dont know how long they have been broke. Does anybody know where should I start looking.

Check the speedo drive cable coming from the transmission, if you undo the cable end and spin or flick the cable in your fingers the speedo should jump, if not the cable will be broken
