What type of knocking noises are you hearing-is it coming from the engine or somewhere else. The engine could pinging/detonating

It's coming from the engine. I let someone rev up the RPM and i can hear it in the engine, underneath. Even on just a steady motion, car not in gear at idle and stepping on the throttle at 2500 RPM you can hear it.
