1991 Toyota Celica overheated and wont crank

Car over heated tonight. Went to slow down pull over it shut off. I sat there for like 15-20 minutes let it cool off. Went to crank it would not turn on. I gave it some gas Put it in first and was able to get home pulled in to the drive way soon as i did.
