I have been having continuing starting problems with the the car which is a JLX model to the point that it no longer works at all. Previously we had to bang it to make it work now it has given up the ghost completely. A colleague of mine has a repair busines dealing solely with starters, alternaters etc and will repair this one once he has it. I have looked into the engine bay and need advice on how to actually remove this faulty one. Do other parts have to be removed to get at it? Is it done from the top or the bottom? Your help would greately be appreciated.
Look forward to hearing. Peter Ryder

Removal is a straightforward job and you need to get to it from the easiest way to access. Anything blocking access have to be removed.
Remember to disconnect the battery negative terminal first and then the cable attached to the starter motor. After removing the 2 holding bolts, you would be able to remove the starter from its seat.
