renault clio 1.2 shuts down while driving

I have a 1993 renault clio 1.2 and i have a problem,
sometimes while driving, the car ads some rpm without touching the throtlle ,when that happens if i touch the throtlle the car shuts down and I cant start it for a few minutes,the mechanic changed the carburetor but nothing is changed

we have no info on these vehicles, but scan for codes and check fuel pressure first. you might check the ignition system for loose parts.
