What would cause the fuel pump fuse to blow in a 1991 Pontiac Sunbird. I recently replaced the fuel pump and the fuel pump relay and it still blows the fuse.

Did you replace the fuel filter when you did the pump? Possibly the pump failed from junk in the gas, and now it is in the filter and the pump is trying to push it through, getting hot and blowing the fuse.

Both the 4 and 6 cylinders have in line filters too. Make sure you release the pressure from the fuel rail before you try to crack the fittings.

How is it running before the fuse blows? The fuse is what it calls for correct? If so, the pump is working harder for some reason. Check the plug where the pump plugs into the harness, and all other connections on that line. Corroded, dirty, or melted plugs could do that.
