drains the battery dead.pulled positive battery cable off keeps running new battery in it. belt tight.i was wandering if it could be the regulator and where it is. its on a 91 Nissan pickup 2wheele drive 4cylinder

Could be the internal voltage regulator in the alternator not controlling the voltages causing it to overcharged the battery or the battery is sulfated-or a short circuit somewhere draining the battery overnite
