transmission problems

The reverse sycronizer is out of my 1991 nissan pu. cant even hold it in w both hands. All other gears are fine. is it a hard fix?

The reverse gear does not have any synchronizer. If it is a fault with the transmission internals, you wouldhave to strip it down to check. Most likely it could be excessive wear or bad bearings.

Definitely not a DIY job if I must say.
