1991 Nissan Maxima brakes

My brakes locked on. My husband took off tire and saw caliper locked on front driver side. He bought a new caliper and put it on. Drove seemed fine at first then it locked on again. What would cause this.

If only one side is locking up, check the flexible hose. It could be bad internally and not allowing fluid to return thus locking up the caliper as the fluid heats up.

If vehicle is equipped with ABS, that could be another possibility.
