1991 Mirage stalls on start, check engine light on also.

I have a 1991 Mirage that starts reluctantly and stalls soon after. Check engine light is on also. Any clues? Seems like it is starving of gas? But I'm no mechanic.

The first thing that we need it for you to go get a scan done and post the fault codes here, the check light is an indication that there are codes logged in the ECU, start here.

Hey Mark. Took it to the garage but was unable to obtain a code from computer.

Some cheaper generic scanners don't read very well, the light is an indication that there is a code in the system, maybe get them to do a code clear and drive the car which will re set any problem codes again, try a scan then.
