1991 Mazda MPV mileage: 75,000. I have a hard starting condition when cold. In addition, occasionally the idle is rough, and then the car just stalls, and I have to let it sit a few minutes before I can get it to start. I retrieved trouble codes 1 (no ignition pulse) and 3 (No G signal). Do I need to replace the distributor? I tested the resistance of the ignition coil and it was within specs. I tested the resistance of the pick up coil and it was within limits. What else should I be looking at? Thanks!

Your car may be ready for a major tune-up including spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, fuel filter and air filter. Also, perform a fuel pump pressure test. Clean fuel injection system including throttle bore, idle speed control motor and passages. If problem still exists, scan computer for trouble codes.
