While driving or under a load it sometimes cuts out or looses power but if you let off the throttle and get back into it it seems to pick it up and go on till you shift again and I just put plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air and fuel filter all new and still dose the same thing and getting worse

CHECK YOUR FUEL PRESSURE WITH A "REAL" GAUGE, GET "REAL NUMBERS"!

SOMETIMES AUTO PARTS STORES WILL LOAN OR RENT THEM, IT'S NOT A BAD IDEA TO GO AHEAD AND BUY ONE THAT YOU CAN USE OR EVEN RENT IT TO YOUR PALS TO RECOVER YOUR FUNDAGE! SEEMS THAT GASOLINE PROPULSION WILL BE HERE AWHILE, AND YOU WILL BE AHEAD OF THE GAME FOR THE FUTURE!

I'M NO COMPUTER KINDA GUY, I LIKE STUFF '86 ON BACK, PARTICULARLY CJs, BUT THE 1ST THING TO LOOK AT IS

DOES YOUR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WORK (VERIFIED DURING START-UP)?

IS IT ON NOW?

YOUR RIG LEFT THE CARBURETOR BEHIND, 1990 WAS THE LAST OF 'EM

SO IF THINGS ARE NOT ALL MODIFIED OVER THE YEARS IN YOUR JEEP, OBD I IS GONNA MAYBE TELL US WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT, BEFORE YOU THROW CRAP AT IT

SEEMS YOU HAVE ALREADY TRIED TO CATCH UP ON SOME OF YOUR SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE- KEEP IT UP!

THERE IS SORTA NO SENSE IN ATTEMPTING TO TRACK DOWN A PROBLEM THAT SHOULDA BEEN DONE AT A CERTAIN TIME OR MILEAGE, THAT'S SORTA WHY IT'S CALLED "PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE"

IF YOU REALLY LOVE YOUR JEEP, THIS SHOULD BE CONSTANTLY AND RELIGIOUSLY ADHERED TO

......THEN THIS ISSUE WOULD SURELY AND TRULY BE AN UNEXPECTED REPAIR, AS THE "GIVENS" WOULD ALREADY BE DONE AND ELIMINATED

I'M GONNA ATTEMPT TO AID YOU ON GETTING THE "JEEP" CODES OUT OF YOUR BABY. SEE THIS, THEN RETURN WITH THE ACTUAL "NUMBERS"

http://www.icheckengine.com/2012/05/chrysler-obd1-codes.html

SEE YOU SOON

DON'T CRY!

WE WILL GET YOU FIXED, IF YOU ARE CAPABLE ON YOUR END!

EVEN THOUGH I'M NOT MR. OBD I, I WILL FIND A 2CARSOMEONE TO AID ME IF I'M NOT CAPABLE

WELL SIR

CODES DON'T SEEM TO HELP MUCH AT ALL!

WHAT IS THE FUEL PRESSURE?

MOST OF THE FELLERS HERE DON'T PROMOTE THROWIN' PARTS AT SOMETHING

I'M KINDA LIKE THAT, BUT I'M PRONE TO THROWING SOME, ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE INEXPENSIVE AND "COULD BE CONSIDERED" PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE OR SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE OR IT'S JUST BEEN ON HERE FOREVER AND WORKING HARD! THERE IS ALSO THE POSSIBILITY THAT SOMEONE IN THE PAST, JUST THROWED ON SOMETHING THEY HAD AND IT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN CORRECT

HERE'S THE DEAL ON THIS ONE, IT CAN BE TESTED WITH A VOLTMETER

IF YOU DO REPLACE IT AND I WAS WRONG, YOU NOW HAVE A SPARE ONE!

I KEEP A SPARE MECHANICAL FUEL PUMP/ AN IGNITION MODULE/ A COIL (AND A FEW OTHER PARTS) / AND TOOLS (INCLUDING A VOLTMETER) IN MY '77 CJ-5

SIMPLE STUFF THAT HAVE LEFT ME STRANDED IN THE PAST!....NOT ANY MORE!

MR. COIL (AND LACK OF FUEL) MIGHT HAVE IT SKIPPING/ STRAINING UNDER LOAD

HAS ANY OF THE IGNITION STUFF BEEN MODIFIED FROM OEM?

THIS IS THE ONE THAT I FOUND AT ADVANCE AUTO

THIS OR THE SAME SORTA TECHNIQUE MIGHT HELP YOU GET IT (AND OTHER STUFF) CHEAPER (WORKS FOR ME EVERYTIME!)

YOUR TURN

FUEL PRESSURE?

OTHER FELLERS WELCOME TO ADD TO THIS
