I have a 1991 Cherokee that I keep blowing motor mounts in. I have considered making solid mounts instead of rubber ones. Any reasons why I should or shouldn't? I have also considered making stronger braces for tranny. I want to reinforce for rough driving across country.

I wouldn't recommend making a solid mount. It will vibrate bad when you drive.
