How to replace heater core, and if I have to remove dash, what is the easiest way to remove

HEATER UNIT

Removal & Installation

Remove negative battery cable.
Drain engine coolant.
Disconnect heater hoses from heater unit.
Remove instrument panel assembly.
Disconnect blower resistor connector.
Remove heater unit-to-blower duct.
Remove instrument panel stay.
Remove heater unit.
Remove heater unit-to-blower duct.
Remove mode control case, but DO NOT remove linkage unit yet. See Fig. 7 .
Remove temperature control case by separating heater core case.
With temperature control case separated, pull out mode door while raising catch on door lever.
To install, reverse removal procedure.

INSTRUMENT PANEL

Removal & Installation

1. Remove steering wheel and steering cowl. See Fig. 6 . Remove grille and bezel. Remove instrument cluster hood. Remove instrument cluster bezel and assembly. Remove hood-release handle. Remove steering column lower cover.

2. Remove fuse box and side trim. Remove electronic control module box. Remove front console, and remove lower reinforcement. Remove speaker grille and glove box. Remove knobs, bezel and control lever assembly. Remove illumination control knob. Remove mount bolts and instrument panel. To install, reverse removal procedure.
