I tried to put a question in the right box but it would not let me, so I will be asking it here. The problem I am having is that when putting it into gear nothing happens. So I pulled the transmission to check the clutch. Well while pulling the transmission parts of the clutch fell out. After pulling the transmission I found out that there was no pads on the pressure plate side of the clutch. What would cause that? Also I checked the input shaft of the transmission and found a lot of play. I pulled the cover off and found that the race has play between the cover and the bearing. Is this normal? I was going to go to the junk yard and get a different transmission to see if there was play on the input shaft. What do I do now?

Sounds as if the front bearing is well worn, there will be a small amount of movement, but not a huge amount, hard to say with out inspecting, may be take the trans to a mechanic and get a visual inspection done to be sure, the clutch may well just be worn out, with the miles you have posted this could easily be the case, just install a new clutch kit and make sure that you get the fly wheel machined if it is a solid type, if duel mass it will have to be replaced with the clutch.
