I have a 1991 ford econoline van the key switch will not spring back when you turn the key to start and the car will not turn over, i was told on your web site earlier to replace the key switch that did not fix it. It will turn over when you cross the silinoid, the van does have tilt steering, when i took the cover off of the steering column i could see the rod moving when i turn the key to start

The ignition switch like I stated on the end of that rod is a spring loaded IGN SW top of collumn near bulk head.
