I brought a used engine from a junk yard (1995 plymouth acclaim) to replace the engine in my 1991 Dodge caravan. Once I bolt the transmission up, the engine is locking up. I want to know if I have to change the torque converter?

Use the flex plate from the '91 engine. The designs changed over the years. The newer one probably has about a 1 inch ring added to it with holes cut out for the crankshaft position sensor. I'm pretty sure the '91 didn't use the crank sensor but the '95 did.
