The firewall that the clutch cable on my car goes through calapsed inn. cable not held .i had a plate welded on for stength hold. lot of play. in cable. would that make a cllutch to not ingage.

yup it's probably not able get adjusted correct hence it won't pull the clutch in the release arem is the throw out bearing arm to you
