Check for a broken cable if the release arm moves then your clutch may be shot

The firewall that the clutch cable on my car goes through calapsed inn. Cable not held.I had a plate welded on for stength hold. Lot of play. In cable. Would that make a cllutch to not ingage.

Yup it's probably not able get adjusted correct hence it won't pull the clutch in the release arem is the throw out bearing arm to you
