1991 Chevrolet Silverado fuel tank location

I have a lifted 1991 Chevy and the original fuel tank will not fit underneath the truck because of the custom made transfer case. Is it safe and legal to bolt it to the bed of the truck with a casing over top

We only deal with OEM style repairs. As far as bolting it to the bed, make sure it is well protected.
