Transmission is an automatic, with about 1200k miles on it First time this happened, was downshifting from overdrive, to 3rd, while towing a small 2 horse trailer, while decelerating up an off ramp, heard the tranny pop out of gear, and the 4wd floor shifter was in neutral. Next time it happened, two days later, was also pulling same trailer, level ground, this time with a horse in it, and was coming up on a 25 mph corner so downshifted from drive to, 2nd.

Better to replace the case as you have a 3 yr 50k warranty and is cheaper.
