Random downshifts

1991 S10 with 4.3 and 700R4 downshifts unnecessarily while cruising down the highway. Goes back up in a heartbeat but keeps doing it randomly. When I stop somewhere to run an errand and then go back on the road, it doesn't do it anymore. Did it last year but it didn't do it at all during the winter. Now it's back again. Any ideas?

Do you think it's just dropping out of overdrive and back in?

Yea that's basically what it's doin now that I think about it. What causes this?

I'd check the wiring to trans and pull plugs to look for corrosion.
