91 Blazer 5.7 runs rough and dies

1991 Blazer 5.7ltr. Engine ran great, no weird symptoms before it suddenly started running really rough and dying if I dont give it a little gas to make it idle higher. Tried to drive it home and the service engine light came on but by the time I got home it was off, but still running rough and wanting to die. What should I look at?

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis,finding out what's going on

Try cleaning out the idle air control valve and EGR valve and see what happens
