Running rough

I own a 1994 chevy blazer tahoe LT 4.3w auto 155000 miles on the clock.
the car is running rough, when starting from cold it stinks of gas and the "service engine soon light stays on" whenil you put your foot down and reach speeds of upto 60mph then the light goes off and the car runs normal until you slow down to about 30mph and it starts to run rough again and the light comes back on again.
Any ideas as im pulling my hair out

You need to have the OBD code/s pulled and comeback with it. Or find ALDL jump A to B and count the flashes.

It sounds like the EGR valve may be sticking, this was a big problem with these models.
