1991 chevy astro van heater blower motor

I am having an issue w/ the heating/AC.
the blower motor will not run without "tapping" on the relay located on the passanger side firewall.I have replaced this relay & the resister, but no change. Also if the blower is running, changing the fan speed will shut the blower down. any ideas ?

Inspect and test the blower switch and wiring to it could be shorting out-

Switch like the slector in the van ?
or a switch on the blower ?
all the wireing was cool even cleaned all the concacts i colud see also.
