1991 Buick Century Just Replaced Harmonic Balancer Crankshaft Sensor Get Start

I just replaced the harmonic balancer and crankshaft sensor and i cant get it to start, it seems like it wants to start and backfires. Is there a way to positiion the sensor on the back of the balancer plates? what should I do next?

what was the original issue??? why did you replace these parts????
