91 bmw 525i

i have a 91 525 i automatic i put it in reverse it made a clunking noise and now wont go into any gears as if it were in nuetral and trying to put in park running it grinds please help im dun!it shifted good before this thanks eric sandiego caqenter your question...

The GM tranny is probably toast. Drain some of the fluid out, tell me what it looks like. If it smells burnt and it is black, the replacement of the transmission is probably called for.
