Reving Problem

My son's 1991 Acura Legend is having an idle problem where as she revs up and then unrevs, revs up, then unrevs....and just keeps doing this. It happens at 1-2 second increments.

check for a vacuum hose off or a vacuum leak. choke cleaer sprayed around the intake base or throttle body base will show that up. Also take the choke cleaner and clean the throttleplateon both sides as well as the idle air control valve hole. they gunk up with oil. do this with the engine OFF. the car will start hard after cleaning but that may take care of it.

Check your coolant level. Low coolant in a honda/acura causes idle to jump.
