It's the left brake light that isn't working. The fuse and bulb are good. The running lights use the same bulb and those work. So, why is the brake light not working? Thanks for any help!

Check the light socket itself to see if there is a problem. Many times they break down over the years.

The running light works, so it would seem that it is fine because they share the same socket and bulb. Right?

They do, but the power for the brake light is supplied through a different section in the socket and the bulb itself. If you look close at the bulb, you will see two elements in it. One is the running light and the other is the brake light. The brake light element only gets power when you hit the brakes.

You were right! Is there anything I can do, other than buying a whole new assembly?
