The catalytic converters (2) have been removed, emptied, and welded back in on my 1990 firebird/gta trans am with the TPI / 350. Ever since, the car runs bogged down and idles hard and high. i think its due to the change in back pressure.....
First, should i put new converters on? Is the computer programmed to run specifically with both converters?
Second, if i keep them like they are, what needs to be done to fix? Can I remove EGR or will that help or hinder?
I think it is best to have the exhaust system with all its parts......but I am one of those "NO n-rigging" folks!!!!!

You shouldn't be removing anything which, by the way, is a 25,000 fine.
Put the converters back on and see what you have then.
