what will happen if the resistance of the spring load carbon in the distributor cap is less than should be?

i have bosch distributor cap 1 235 522 437.and i have been told that the resistance of the spring load carbon in the center of the distributor cap should be 1000 ohm(+/-10%).is it right? if yes..what will happen if i change the carbon to lower resistance?lets say 100 ohm?

I have no idea as to the actual reading of the carbon brush, but i would not alter anything, Bosch caps will be fine, a imagine that if you did alter the resistance you may well burn the carbon brush out rather quickly, just fit the cap as sold, you will not have a problem.
