Changed fuel filter, car ran fine for approximately ten minutes then erratic for a few before shutting off. Will start but shuts down right away.

How do you know this is fuel-related? If it is, GM fuel pumps typically fail while you're driving. Chrysler pumps almost always fail to start up, but if they do, they keep going. If your pump is quitting, you can verify that by installing a fuel pressure gauge. The pressure will drop to 0 pounds within a couple of seconds, and the engine will sputter for those few seconds before it quits completely. If it's spark-related, the engine will die instantly.
If you feel surging before the engine dies, you might suspect a plugged or collapsing strainer on the fuel pump pickup tube in the gas tank. Typically once the engine stalls, if you let it sit for half a minute, it will restart and run okay for a few miles before it acts up again. Most of the time it will restart and run for shorter and shorter periods of time.
