shaking pathfinder

I have a 1990 nissan pathfinder 4wd, auto transmission, it shakes all over badly while driving at highway speeds the shaking goes away when I let up on the gas it also goes away when I accelerate it has 249000 miles on it what is most likely causing this. Thank you

What you need to do here, is have them tires,wheel alignment and suspension checked thoroughly-

Since problem is present only when accelerator is depressed, the most likely cause would be the U-joints on the propeller shaft.

Getting rusty -forgot that from the U-Joints it will shake your booty if its loose under acceleration could be driveline issue
